Learning First Aid with Jona and Joni
In an emergency, every minute counts. Even simple first-aid measures can relieve pain, reduce the risk of serious health consequences and, in some cases, save lives. That is why Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe teaches children between the ages of five and eleven the basic principles of first aid.
The children are supported by Jona and Joni, two characters who guide them through an age-appropriate colouring and activity book. Using clear and relatable examples, they show children how to recognise potential dangers, respond correctly and help others in an emergency.
Interactive Learning with Digital Content
The colouring and activity book has been redesigned and enhanced with a range of digital features. Using a smartphone or tablet, children can access 3D figures and explanatory videos directly from the book.
A digital learning assessment provides immediate feedback on whether the exercises have been completed correctly. A read-aloud function is also available for children who are not yet able to read independently. In addition, a digital reward system encourages them to complete all activities and reinforce what they have learned.
In this way, children learn through play how to overcome their fear of helping and take responsibility in an emergency.
Why We Support the Project
We believe it is important to introduce children to first aid at an early age and provide them with the knowledge they need in a clear, practical and age-appropriate way. For this reason, Vetter supports the Johanniter project “First Aiders of Tomorrow”.
Thanks to the commitment of local companies, the learning materials can be provided to children free of charge. We are pleased to support this valuable initiative, which promotes both safety awareness and social responsibility.
The “Jona und Joni” app is available free of charge from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The accompanying colouring and activity books are distributed through participating partners.
